Through their Watt Watcher’s program, Potomac Edison has two audit options available for their consumers:
CHECK UP AUDIT (no cost)
This program provides an in-home walk-thru consultation and audit report. An Allegheny Power approved auditor (Glory Energy Solutions!) will survey your home’s insulation , duct work, water heating, cooling and heating systems and overall efficiency. Participation is simple. Your share of the cost is $40, which is be waived with the acceptance of a free energy efficiency kit; free light bulbs AND and cost assessment! The standard kit includes items such as CFLs, low-flow showerhead, and faucet aerators. Electric heating customers also qualify for a 15% rebate, up to $1000 on additional ceiling insulation costs.
COMPREHENSIVE AUDIT (low cost)
In addition to the check-up, the comprehensive audit includes a blower door test and with Glory Energy Solutions as your auditor, an infra-red camera test. A blower door is used by the auditor to conduct diagnostic testing to measure and quantify the air tightness of your home and identify areas of excess air leakage. The infra-red testing will show the exchange of heat/cold from your home. To participate, your share of the cost is $180, $40 of which is be waived with the acceptance of a free energy efficiency kit; free light bulbs AND $40 off! Electric heating customers also qualify for a 15% rebate, up to $1000, on addition ceiling insulation and air sealing costs.
