Solar water heaters can be a cost-effective way to generate hot water for your home. They can be used in any climate, and God gives us the fuel they use, sunshine, free. We will use evacuated tube solar collectors, as they are the most efficient and effective for our geographic area. They are a bit more expensive initially, but their efficiency ensures they generate heated water even in the coldest of days. They work much like a vacuumed thermos bottle.

Feature parallel rows of transparent glass tubes. Each tube contains a glass outer tube and metal absorber tube attached to a fin. The fin's coating absorbs solar energy but inhibits radiative heat loss, much like a thermos jug holds heat by way of a vacuum jacket around the container holding a hot drink; hot on the inside regardless of how cold it is outside.
Pumps then circulate an FDA-approved heat exchange solution through the collector, and the heat exchanger transfers the heat from the solution to the water in the tank.
Such systems also provide heat energy to household HVAC systems and radiant floor heating, increasing the use of the collected heat energy to a number of applications.
Solar water heating systems usually cost more to purchase and install than conventional water heating systems, however a solar water heater can save you money in the long run. How much money you save depends on:
